HONORING ATLANTA’S GOLF TRAILBLAZER WHO CHANGED THE GAME
The Alfred “Tup” Holmes Legacy Foundation, in partnership with the City of Atlanta and the Atlanta History Center, will host a 70th Anniversary Legacy Celebration during Black History Month on February 25, 2026. This milestone event commemorates the 1955 Holmes v. City of Atlanta Supreme Court ruling—a historic decision that ended segregation in Atlanta’s public golf courses and opened the game to all. Alfred “Tup” Holmes’ courageous legal challenge reshaped Atlanta’s civic landscape and secured his place as one of the city’s great trailblazers. Sponsorship support helps preserve this history while expanding youth access through golf, education, and mentorship.
INAUGURAL KICKOFF AND 2024 BLACK HISTORY MONTH EVENT
